Hi, I'm currently a junior in High School, from Texas.
FIT has definitely caught my eye, I'm interested in majoring in Graphic Design.
Though the price is probably the lowest in NYC, I'm determined to find a job and save
every paycheck for FIT while my parents help out by only putting around 5,000.
My question is.. Is FIT worth all the hard work I'm getting myself into?
I really enjoy the location of course. I dream of landing a job for a fashion magazine as
one of their graphic designers. But I'm really afraid of graduating FIT and turning out jobless
(I hear a lot of people turn out like this :/.)
I don't want to go to a regular University here in Texas and regret what would've happen if i went to FIT. Though i was thinking of going to college here then moving to NYC
once i receive my degree, The thought of going directly to NYC at FIT really
excites me and gives me hope.
What do you guys think? Any Input would be great?
Thanks!

Hi Erik! That’s super cool that you’re looking into schools to study graphic design and even better that your parents are going to help you out! I had to pay for my entire education but I was able to pick where I wanted to attend college and choose to go to school in LA. Have you’ve looked into graphic design schools in LA? I’m sure the schools there have great connections and have killer reputations in the graphic design industry. I love FIDM because their grads seem to be pretty successful and students have the opportunity to intern. Also their graphic design program has different career options you can take so it may be something to look into if you want another school to compare to FIT.
