is the Global Liberal Studies (GLS) program the real deal?

I'm looking into transferring into NYU, and saw the GLS program in the application.
I did some research and saw that that is has its separate URL (gls.nyu.edu)

Will I get the same degree from GLS as compared to the college of arts and sciences?
If anyone is in/knows someone in GLS, please let me know a bit more about it.

and yes, i did a search and nothing relevant came up.

Thanks

Yep, you get a Bachelor of Arts degree, the same as most liberal arts majors at NYU.

GLS is a brand new program and Class of 2013 is the first year, so there really are no GLS students to ask except the new freshmen, who haven’t even started classes yet. Most students at NYU don’t even know what GLS is or very little about it, since it’s new. If you post again in a couple months, some of the freshmen will be able to tell you what it’s like.

but it’s basically 4 years of broad liberal arts education. the info on the website is your best bet for now since GLS hasn’t really taken off yet. I guess you can email for specific questions.
