is the high frequency wordlish enough?

i was just wonderin if the high frequency word list of the "barrons-how to prepare for the sat" is good enough?
also,how important is the hot prospects list?

I didn’t even look at the vocab list in the book. I used the flash cards and some online sites. It all depends on how your vocabulary is. If you have a good vocabulary, go through the high-frequency list and pick out the words you don’t already know. If you don’t have a good vocabulary, it would probably be much easier and much faster to read some tough books (you didn’t learn English as a baby by looking at flashcards, did you?).

I went through the whole 3500 list ;} I hope my efforts will be rewarded ;

You could go through the whole 3500 word list, but there are only about 24 actual vocab questions on the test, plus maybe 4-6 more that go with the passages. Then again, if that’s your problem, go for it!

@ applicannot :thanks…i’m done with most of the flashcards…they’re easy…wht kinda buks?..please name some…r u sure there are only 24 vocab questions?..if so then i’m losin a lot on the passages in the CR section…wht cud u advise to help improve my CR score?-i’ve got only till april end!

@ CR7_ManUtd :woah…cool man…i dont think i can put in so much hard work into it…plus i’m givin the SAT on may 2nd…not much time left to do the 50 lists

I would just go with Directs Hits (Volume 1 and 2) because many CCers recommend it, and because many people say that it is on point with the SAT and it has raving reviews about it on amazon.com

There are 19 SC on the test.
I finished the Barrons 3500 on Jan 20 and had my exam on Jan 26 .I didnt have any time to review and I knew only 10-15 % from these 3500 words.I realized I cant review all of them for 1 week and bought Direct hits.I got 15 correct,omitted 1 and missed 3 SC out of 19 ,which I think was OK .But If you want to do well on the passage questions ,you need sth more than DH.
Of course,I am not native speaker,havent read any English books (except Harry Potter) and need very strong vocabulary

thanks a lot guys…i dont think i’ll be able to get direct hits thou i’ll surely try…i’ll be goin thru the suffixes and prefixes i hope they help -wht d’ya say?
