Is the Honors program worth it?

I'm thinking of applying to the accelerated BA MD program. Should I also apply to the Honors college? Can I get in the Honors college later on if I decide to not apply for it now?

Also, does anyone know how many people GW accepts for the BA MD program?

The honors program doesn’t seem particularly populated.

Frankly, I don’t see the point. If someone gets a 4.0 in challenging classes, that’s just as impressive as the honors program. It’s never seemed like there are enough honors classes- just underclassmen seminar classes. It’s up to you, but I’d skip it. Focus on the GPA and future MCAT scores.

I lived in what was essentially honors housing my Freshman year (I’m not in the honors program), and I believe the phrase “it’s a trap” was applied to the honors program a number of times. In fact, I specifically remember one instance where a few of the boys in my building took over the elevator and covered it in green paper saying “it’s a trap!”

how was it “a trap”?

its not a trap, it gives you special advising and preference for scheduling your classes feshman and sophmore year. smaller classes are offered too. When my duaghter applied you could only apply at the same time as the invite. She lived in honors housing, made friends with her entire floor. The engineers were there too, she edited their papers and they fixed her cell phone, helped with math, win win
