I'm nervous :(

Did you already set yours up? I haven’t even started that applicant info.

I completed Part I in early June and have been working on completing Part II. I have yet to receive information regarding an interview although I am applying EA. Personally I am not worried. When Georgetown sends out the information regarding my local alum, I will proceed as necessary. Until then, I will continue doing whatever it is I do.

Generally speaking, these interviews are meant to serve as a “get to know you” rather than “weeding out” type of exercise. The way it works is that after the alumni interviews you, they have to write a report to admissions basically giving you a numeric score and some qualitative narratives. If you live in a metropolitan area, mostly likely your interviewer will only have one/two interviewees per admissions cycle and therefore will try to fight for you (as a matter of personal pride), unless you really bomb the interview and don’t connect with them.

Think of interviews as more of a check in the box and will only affect you admissions chances if you either completely bomb it or hit it out of the park and even then the adcoms will have to weigh the interview with the rest of your app. Despite what people say, college admissions are still highly stats driven.
