Is the interview important

I know that many applicants have the opportunity to have an interview with the college, or one of their alumni. I thought my interview went wonderfully, but does it really have any impact on admission decisions? I feel as if my stats hold me back, but at the same time there is some small hope in me that they will consider other factors in admissions like the interview. I stayed overnight at Yale as and fell absolutely in love with the school. Any comments?

They cant hold the interview with much weight becuz its optional.....if it does go well though.....it is a plus in the application.
