As stated, how vital is the interview in the admissions process? Does Rochester look down on those who don't interview? I don't live close to Rochester, so I was wondering if it has much of an effect on admissions decisions.

It is very important. Rochester does alumni interviews and also brings it admissions officers to hotel meetings throughout the country, at which they do interviews. We are also far from Rochester, and my d interviewed near us.

Interviews are pretty much required if you hope to get merit aid.

Ah, thanks. Hope there is still enough time for an alumni interview...

Another question: has anyone else been having trouble requesting alumni interviews on the UR website? For some reason, the, a box that says "processing form" comes up, but nothing seems to happen. Argh this is frustrating.

I did not do an interview and was accepted.

But on the website they state that interviews are important for scholarships and financial aid (if you get in).

so I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten much scholarship money w/o interviewing.

See, I requested an interview and they never got back to me about it, so hearing about this "no aid" thing is kind of a drag for me.

Call them.
