i'm looking at the inspiron 6000 and the latitude d610.
is the latitude worth the extra 200 or so dollars?

The Latitude does have better tech support and is more comparable to the IBM ThinkPads, but the Inspiron 6000 is also a good choice too.

If you're price conscious, then I'd go with the Insprion 6000.

I bought the latitude610.

You'll never get a $750 off deal on a latitude, so it turns out to be a lot more than just $200 more expensive.

Actually, there is at this very moment a sale b** for $500 off an Inspiron priced $1399+ OR a Latitude priced $1699+. Ends Sunday.

The $750 off coupon is for an Inspiron priced $1899+. It expires after 5000 uses or Sunday, whichever is earlier. (although another one will probably come on again shortly) You won't be able to get both deals together, however. :(

Check www.techbargains.com.

Wow, I've never seen a deal that good for Latitudes. However, the coupons I was talking about were the $750 off $1500 which pop up occasionally for inspirons.
