It has been well established that “cow emissions” are one of the leading greenhouse gasses so there is a very serious component to such a study–despite the comic sound. </p>
<p>Given that state universities draw the vast majority of their students from in-state and that most of their OOS students come from the same region of the country, the definition is not simply mine own, but a tautological one. (The only exception off the top of my head is the University of Delaware which, because Delaware is such a small state, has more OOS students than in-state students. But the OOS students come almost only from surrounding states. So even this possible exception is regional in nature.)</p>
