Is the Marshall curve really that atrocious??

I've been accepted into USC Marshall Biz School as a junior transfer and also UCLA and Berkeley. I'm leaning heavily towards UCLA right now because they gave me a full ride, but a lot of my friends and elders say that the career center at Marshall will get me a better job than compared to UCLA. More importantly, I applied as a sociology major for UCLA.

I have a very huge preference towards USC because that has been my dream school since I was in middle school. Can anyone whos doing business administration tell me if that curve is really that bad? I heard from a friend that they changed the curve from a B- up to a B and should be a lot better now. Is that true?? Is it really difficult to get an A in the upper division classes? I really want to graduate with at least a 3.5 or higher GPA. Will that be possible along with having a social life (joining a frat)?

The curve is not bad at all. B curve for core classes and B+ curve for electives and concentration classes. The curve is actually easy in comparison to the grade distribution in Viterbi (engineering).

You won't have a problem joining a frat and still graduating w/ 3.5+ if you're smart and willing to work a little.

Oh yeah I am very dedicated to studying.. The past two years have been nothing but class from 9-12 and then library for 3-4 hours and then class from 6-9. I'm usually in the library at least 3-4 hours a week. Would that be considered enough to get good grades if I specialized in finance??

It is true that th curve is changed to B at Marshall. I remember I read something about it on daily trojan

yeah they changed it from 2.7 to 3.0

I agree with bicoastal's assessment.

woah... this is bad... whats the average grade in viterbi classes?

just wondering....is 3.0 the average? or like the top mark you can get??? is it absolutely impossible to get 4.0 average???
