Is the Mid-Year Report a heavy factor in Interim Decisions?

Son applied ID. His school is still working on new GPA's & rank (as of 20 minutes ago, I learned they "HOPE" they'll be available next week).

My question is, even though the counselor will be sending in the Mid-Year Report, does Rice ALSO require an official transcript for 1st semester, or can we wait to send the final year-end transcript?

From their website, it appears not to be required, but does anyone know for sure?

Thanks.

here's my situation...

i was on the edge for grades for two classes, and i lost both (AP Stats will be a B and AP Eng will be a C)....so now i have my first C on my transcript for second semester...

i won't be able to send the midyear report until right about the tenth so i'm safe for that, but what do you think the chances are that they will revoke my admissions if i get in...

(overall my semester gpa will be a 3.6, bringing my cumulative gpa of 4.02 to about a 4.00)

Revoke someone for a single C? I highly, highly doubt it.

although I applied RD I am worried about my midyear grades simply becuase I have a C in AP Calc BC and it's the only C on my transcript. All of my other grades for this year are As and Bs (mostly As) but I don't want the admissions counselors to think I'm slacking.
