Is the National Society a scam?

i got a letter from the national society of high school scholars today. my mom is very prouds of me, but I feel like it's a scam (similar to who's who among HS students). Can anyone tell me if it is in fact a scam or a actual honor of which I should be proud

same here... Can anyone confirm if this is a scam? seems like it is..

if you signed up for the PSAT or SAT you will get MANY letters about colleges sometimes you get even lucky and get one about a award program that looks fantastic. On some it will say "just one easy payment of xx" and you will be included in this wonderful book or "only for xx" you will fly to a one in a lifetime experience to xx and meet sucessful ppl and learn from them. If yours is like that gues what its a SCAM... It will NOT help you in college, IT will NOT give you an advantage, BUT it WILL cost you some $$.

hope this helps :D

Please don't send them any money! If they ask for money it is definitely a scam. I had to convince my mother of this, she was ready to write a check. We got into a big argument.

it's a straight up scam. This dude in my PE class got one and he has a 1.1 GPA

A scam just like the Who's Who of American High School Students ...
