<p>I visited UCSB with my dad and really liked it. I applied, but my mom doesnt want me to go there if I get in. She says it's too much of a party school, and that if even I try to stay away it will be a distraction. Does anyone have any input on UCSB being a crazy party school?</p>

<p>The short of it is, I believe you can easily get by without being distracted.</p>
<p>i dont go to SB yet but look, every single college will have parties the question is can you say no to them? You have to know your consequences if you join these parties, and if you do, I think you will be fine where ever you go, even SB!</p>
<p>No one's going to force you into partying and drinking heavily, this isn't an afterschool special.</p>
