Is the Penn State 2+2 program worth it?

I got accepted to my second choice campus of Erie to study Computer Engineering in the 2+2 program (Start at any campus finish at UP). Out of my other options, Penn State is by far the most reputable and highly ranked choice. My only concerns are the quality of teaching and campus at Erie and whether there would be any disturbance socially and academically after switching to UP.

Any experiences and comments regarding the 2+2 program are appreciated! Please help

Living in Pennsylvania I know plenty of people who have done it successfully, and a fair number that got disgouraged after a while and left for another school. Are you commuting to Erie campus or living there?

I am an American citizen living abroad.

You’d be living on campus, right ?
Are there living learning communities ? Are cafeterias open during the weekend and with what schedule, also ask about entertainment programming over the weekend. Email quickly to get those answers. Ask to be put in touch with a student who’s not from PA.
Where does your stateside family live?
What weather are you used to? Erie will be extremely cold and snowy.

Thanks for the reply. I will ask them right away. thanks again

I know people that the 2+2 program has worked for, but if there are good options, I’d personally rather settle in and be in one campus for 4 years.

Are you speaking of Penn State Behrend? Besides being a branch campus, it is also a four year residential school. I don’t have any direct experience but the school is well thought of here in Pittsburgh. You would have the advantages of a smaller school to start with the option to finish at the main campus with its resources and reputation. A friend of mine who decided to stay all four years graduated and got into Penn’s Wharton the following term.

@lotsofquests the OP mentioned Erie (not Behrend).

Behrend is Penn State Erie 's name. (like Eberly is Penn State Science )
