If i get the premium plan, will that be enough for me to not have to use any more of my own money to buy food? like can i just rely on my premium meal plan for ALL my meals for the entire year?

It depends on how much you eat - but generally, yes. One of my roommates got the premium plan and regretted it because he felt as though he HAD to eat campus food all the time. he ended up with ~200 points leftover at the end of the first semester and only 100 rolled over to second semester. Second semester he did a little better and only ended up with 100 points that he spent at the GBC on his last day on campus. you’d be better off setting aside money (for safeway, andronicos, berkeley bowl, restaurants, etc.) instead of going premium unless you REALLY love campus dc food or bear/cub market.

so how would that extra money work, and is it advised to put that on my cal one card (and spend as cash at the golden bear etc) or should I rely on my standard plan to get me breakfast lunch and dinner at some cal one card accepting place? Obviously therell be incidental meals off campus that ill pay for, but I guess a general question is can I sepnd points on my ‘meal plan’ for a la carte items ie at the golden bear? Thanks

How much do you eat per day?

I ran out on Premium (several weeks in advance of the end of each semester), but “metric ****tons” does not begin to cover the quantities of food I was consuming, especially second semester. If you’re frugal, you can easily last the entire semester on regular, from what I’ve observed, particularly since some of your friends will likely be way over and able to swipe you.

If you are living in Bowles/Stern/Foothill, Premium is worth it (as there is less food around unless you walk down to Euclid)
