Is the senior mid year grade report letter from USC a good thing?

So a couple of days ago I got the senior mid year grade report letter from USC saying they wanted to see my first semester grades. The weird thing is I didn't get that "you haven't received any scholarships" letter that people said they got when they got the senior grade report letter. Now, my case is a little different because I applied to Thorton School of Music for Bassoon Performance, which in total there were only six of us. I've applied and auditioned and they said I did really well and that I shouldn't be too nervous. Another thing is that I did apply for the USC Legacy scholarship since I am one with my grandfather and grandmother both graduating with masters and doctorates from there. Unfortunately, my grades aren't that great (3.1 gpa I think) and my SAT's and ACT's both sucked (...1545 on the SAT...), but my music resume is incredibly impressive for someone my age. Now could it be that I got into the music school, but the actual school is hesitant to accept me? Or could this mean I'm not in at all? OR could it be that I'm borderline acceptance? OORR could I be one of those special cases that like the talent-out-weighs-the-brains kind of a thing? OOORRR could it be they did this because they think it's funny to mess with people? (jk about this one). All in all, this is my top choice and I'm pretty much confused/freaking out at the moment. A little insight would be awesome! Thanks!

Woah people! Don’t all reply at once!

Do some research - are you sure they’re not just reminding you to send in midyear transcripts? A ton of colleges require that applicants send in first semester grades.

You can’t get a 1545 on the SAT. That’s my only comment.

No it wasn’t a reminder. They said they needed it to help on my acceptance decision.
