Kind of introverted but want to have a social life. Is UCSD any good? I’ve heard it’s commuter heavy?
When anyone asks about a colleges social scene, I believe it is based on personal preference. Your social life will depend more upon you than the school you attend.
Overall 37% of the UCSD students live on-campus but it does not mean that 63% of the rest of the students commute. Only 12% of First time Freshman live off campus or commute. UCSD is not known as a “commuter” school.
The best way to find out about UCSD is to plan a visit. Also do not feed into the “Socially Dead” label given to UCSD. Plenty of students will tell you otherwise.
