Is the sparknotes SAT practice test messed up?

I did the practice test 1, but I only did the writing section. I made 4 stupid mistakes and thus I got 45/49 (which is essentially just 4 wrong on the whole writing section). Now the, seemingly stupid practice test is telling me that with a 45/49 MC and a 12 essay I would have gotten a writing score of 620... I am 99% something is wrong here, anyone confirm?

Yeah sparknote’s curve is completely messed up. Open the BB for the correct aproximation.

Ok, I thought so. I am looking at it again and it says if I got a 1 on the essay (which isn’t possible) I would get a 270. I am sure if I got a 0 on the essay, I would still get at least 500 for the writing section. What do you reckon I got with a 45/49MC and 12 essay, because I don’t have BB (not even sure what Blue Book is)? :(

^ hahahaha 270???

I would say… nothing lower than a 720-730. Probably a 740-750.

Hmm, interesting. I heard some guys got a 800 with a 49/49MC and a 9 on the essay, in the real thing. Lucky bastards got a good curve haha.

Do you reckon a 800 on the math, 3-5 wrong in the critical reading section and 1-3 wrong + 10-12 essay in the writing section would be enough to get me above a 2300, or a 2250 at least?

dat would give you a 2300+. CR would be 720-770. Writing would be 730-800.

^ I second that.

^^^ The MC section is more heavilly wieghted. I got a -1 and a 9 essay for a 780 in January. a -2 or so and a 12 is the most missed I’ve seen get a 800. Actually a -3 might have gotten an 800… lol Maybe add like 10 or 20 to my prediction.
