Is the transition from a CC/JC to a 4yr overwhelming/difficult?

I think I'm going to go that route but I honestly wish I could go straight to a 4yr and live in a dorm.
As we know not all dreams become a reality but if I go to cc and transfer I kind of don't want to live on campus but in an apt.I've always been shy and don't think id change but I don't want to be lonely. Was it difficult to make friends that you actually hang out with?I'm still in high school and I have a good amount of friends but must of them I only see in school and I don't even have some of their numbers.I don't have a fb anymore so there's no other to contac them.I just hope college won't be so distant.

Id prefer a woman's point of view because my brother is planning to transfer but to another cc to be closer to his 4yr college. He doesn't seem worried but he's much more talkative than me as are my parents(I don't know why I'm so darn shy/reserved).

I went straight to a 4yr after high school, but when I dormed last year, my hall was a mixture of first year and transfer students. It was an interesting experience in my opinion, because like you I am pretty shy. The transfer students that I’ve met are nearly the same, but I think living in the dorms together helped a little because you would see that person almost everyday if you study in the lounge or just watch tv. I doubt that you would get lonely if you live in a dorm because there will always be someone that would come up and say hi unless you hide in your room. I have gotten pretty close to a couple people in my hall even though we are completely two different majors and have different classes. I made multiple friends in class even though it was just for one quarter. If you want to have friends that you will see all the time, I suggest you to make friends in clubs that you would be involved in!

Thanks except if I go the transfer route I wasn’t planning on living in dorms but off campus.I’m still not sure which is cheaper.
