I got something in the mail saying how hard it is to find sheets that fit the bed. Is this true and is it really worth it to buy the stuff off the UCLA store or would it be cheaper and just as easy to buy them elsewhere?

That's not from the UCLA store. That's from some company that sends stuff under the UCLA name, which is not endorsed by UCLA.

It is actually very easy to find sheets that fit the bed. Target, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and other place will have the twin XL size.

wait until around august and all the stores will put out their "college" stuff...

if you're lazy buy from ucla....if you feel like shopping and getting higher quality stuff then go to another place

DO NOT BUY OFF OF THAT MAILING LIST. it's a scam, there's been threads here every summer about it, don't do it (quality = crappola)

just go to an actual store, there's tons of selection. sheets at bb&b are less than $20 and last all year without bleeding dye everywhere like the stupid mailing ones. target will have TONS of stuff starting around july. it's only hard to find twin XL if you're looking in like, january or something...

my roommate ordered it from the mailing thing and it wasn't that bad... but I still got better quality set with better price at bb&b

If you wait until early Sept., the XL sheets at Target go for like 6.99 instead of 12-14. Ross also has ALOT of pillows and stuff for decoration for cheap. Also, some Linens & Things are closing soon, so the savings should be over 50% as closing time gets closer. Right now its like 10-20% off. :)

MrSpam,
If it's not endorsed by UCLA, how did they get my mailing address and know I'm a new incoming student?

Scam operation in name of UCLA
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-life/213996-residence-hall-linens.html

There's other posts on the company if you search around for it.

well it is not sold or have any relation with UCLA store, they prolly give UCLA some donations or something thats how they got the mailing list, appearantly they get it every year, but they have no relations with UCLA really... plus just because UCLA sent it to you doesn't mean it is good... good products never need advertisement!

You can go to almost any store and find it. They say the XL twin is "hard to find" but it really isn't.

do not buy sheets through ucla.

I'm not saying it's not a scam, in the sense that they probably sell a poor product for a high price, but how can UCLA not know about it/endorse it/have no relations with it if UCLA gave that company my information?

I guess it's like those TV infomercials where the network makes a disclaimer before it starts...

scam...this happens every year
