some people on here claim to have been accepted off the waitlist or knowing someone who was accepted. Considering how much trolling I have seen on here before, I do not really know how accurate is any information that reaches us. Does anyone have any idea on whats going on?

Waitlist Activity is indeed underway. My letter is up online. Here is a copy of the e-mail:

Dear kriegs4790,

Congratulations! You have been admitted to the University of Pennsylvania. Thank you for agreeing to remain on our Waiting List, your patience has been rewarded!

Please go to [Penn Admissions](http://www.admissions.upenn.edu/decisions) for your official letter of admission and your opportunity to accept this offer. You must reply by Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Contact eapps@admissions.upenn.edu for assistance if you have trouble logging in to the website.

The thick envelope is in the mail!

Thank you,

I wouldnt trust him, but, yeah, they should be up now/soon. Colleges need to full their classes soon. No one should be searching for housing in July.

yea the waitlist is underway- I WAS OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED TODAY AHHH!!! BEST DAY OF MY LIFE.

Congratulations.
Did you receive the acceptance by mail or email?

“Dear kriegs4790” if that didnt give it away that this idiot = a ■■■■■■■■ ■■■■■ than idk wht else will…

why would upenn ever address the letter to the kid’s gd CC username, unless the kids name on his birthcertificate = kriegs4790 (hopefully not)… and the post count also gives it away… cmon gullible CC’rs

“Waitlist Activity is indeed underway. My letter is up online. Here is a copy of the e-mail”

It appears to be by email. I think the snail mail fat envelope is already sent out and on its way.

Umm, Acceptd, I believe kriegs4790 here altered the email and showed his screen name as opposed to his actual name. Not too wise to tell people your real name on an online forum.

It appears that he is not the idiot

its still a really odd worded email to be from an ivy league school dontcha think?

Agreed. It lacks the formal gravitas commonly attached to the acceptance letter.

it would def say something about “We would like to offer…” or soemthing with a WE. colleges like to emphasize themselves haha

“your patience has been rewarded!” “The thick envelope is in the mail!”

if you think that is what penn is sending out to the kids they accept off the waitlist, you deserve a hard smack in the face

and “Not too wise to tell people your real name on an online forum.” whats the big deal?? a ton of ppl on CC know my real information… lol, tool

It’s real. I’m not a ■■■■■. Here is a copy of the ACCEPTANCE LETTER that I accessed online TODAY after receiving my e-mail:

Dear kriegs4790,

Congratulations! On behalf of the entire Penn community, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to attend the University of Pennsylvania as a member of the College of Arts and Sciences Class of 2013.

You and your fellow applicants are the strongest in Penn’s distinguished history and I look forward to welcoming you to campus as part of the 257th graduating class since Benjamin Franklin founded the University.

Whether through your search for knowledge, devotion to service, or continuing engagement within your community, you will contribute to the vitality of Penn and Philadelphia. In your academic and personal pursuits you instinctively seek out connections across disciplines, and you excel at the highest levels. In all these ways, you already demonstrate commitment to the goals and philosophies of this University. Happily, this is only the beginning!

We are sure of your power to excite our faculty, to enliven our campus and city, and to transform the lives of those you meet. I urge you, as one of the newest members of the Penn community, to make these next four years your springboard for lifelong learning - take risks, explore, discover.

This is the start of your next great journey.

Sincerely,

Eric J. Furda
Dean of Admissions

Do you need other evidence? And the letter was addressed to my real name, not kriegs4790.

That, I believe!! kriegs, congratulations on your acceptance!

Well you COULD have found that somewhere on CC since it’s the acceptance letter we all got too, so anyone thinking that you’re a ■■■■■ still doesn’t have much evidence otherwise. Lol but still, I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt… congrats.

It sound okay until the line about the “thick envelope” being in the mail. I would be extremely disappointed if I were paying 50k a year for college that would put a line like that in an email.
I really hope you are accepted but that email make me cringe.

I can vouch for at least the text of what kriegs posted. My email also had the phrase “thick envelope” in it.

Oh, oh. Should I dismiss Penn as on option?

:-p

I am hoping it is maybe their way of adding a little levity. I guess sending an email to a wait listed candidate can be a little awkward.

pshh… seriously guys? obv. a ■■■■■! lol they amuse me.

having heard back from Penn? anyone???
