Is the YES Program open to graduating HS seniors?

My daughter is graduating high school in June of 2017. Can she apply this Fall (when she is a high school senior) for the Kennedy Lugar YES program to participate in a gap year following graduation? The website is not clear (to me at least) whether you have to be in high school at the time of applying or participation,

Hey! I am A YES Abroad 2014-2015 Alum. YES does accept gap year students, however, there are fewer ptions for which country they will be placed in. (Also: I made this account just to respond to this post, I highly recommend having your daughter join this year’s group facebook page “KL-YES Abroad 2015-2016” because alumni are much more active answering questions there)

@Kenz1282 Thank you so much for your information and going through the effort of signing up to respond. The Facebook page is a great idea. CC seems to have a lot of info on NSLIY but not much on YES!

No problem! I think that is likely because NSLI-Y is a much larger program- NSLI-Y has around 500 participants a year with 100 of those being year-long, and YES just has 65 participants a year. Good luck to your daughter. YES is an absolutely incredible program and it has changed my life in so many ways.
