is there a difference between a 32 and a 34?

Hi everyone!
I was an SAT person, so I really do not know how strong or weak my ACT scores are.
I took the September test and I recieved a 32 composite.
English 30
Math 34
Reading 34
Science 29

Should I retake the test for a 34 or is a 32 okay? I heard they are both 99%, so what is the difference?

Are my sections strong enough? Is science taken into consideration at top schools?

Thanks beforehand

32 is approximately a 2140 on the SAT

34 is approximately a 2300

To break it down (the way you did), a 34 is 99 percentile in english, math, and the science section and a 98 in reading. A 32 is 97 in reading, 98 math, 95 reading, and 98 science. But both translate to be a 99 composite.

The difference is how it looks on paper.

32.

34.

at some point don't you wonder why perfect people get rejected?

the difference between a 32 and 34 will NOT be the determinative factor in your college app.

schools are building communities and seeking passions, interests, personalities.

concentrate on your essays, get great recs and quit worrying about a four hour exam result that means nothing other than you tested well on that particular day during that particular time.

musictoad, you are absolutely right. remember, you may not go up. at least 23% of test takers go DOWN. another 25% stay the same. i wouldnt chance it. but hey, you have nothing to lose but a couple of hours of your saturday morning catch-up-on-sleep. if you go down, you still have the 32. if you go up, you only have to show schools that higher score
