Here in MA they don’t go back to school until 9/5, so it will be tight making the 9/15 deadline. The only thing he needs his school counselor for with regards to the Auburn app is his transcript. The unofficial one still thinks he is 11th grade b/c nothing has rolled over, so all the quarter grades are there but only for 11th grade so it looks really weird. He doesn’t;t want to send that one and would rather it be the normal layout. Other than that he plans to start the application next week, have his ACT scores sent and then hopefully counselor will get him the correct transcript to use.

Last year, our admissions advisor said we could upload unofficial transcripts if there was not enough time to have the school send them. You may want to confirm with your admission’s advisor to see if that is the case this year as well.

Yes we were told unofficial is fine- the issue is that even the unofficial is in a wonky format since the official 2023-2024 school year has not started yet. Typically it shows only the final average grade per class and for his junior year it is still showing all the quarter grades so it looks weird having only final grades for 9/10 and all grades for 11.

My senior submitted everything in time for the Sept. 15 early action deadline, but found out last week that his transcript wasn’t in, despite his having requested it back in August. He spoke with his counselor and after checking the admissions portal, it looks like the transcript is now uploaded. But I am assuming he won’t hear back in the earliest decision round since it’s October already? Is that correct?

Correct, unless he had previously uploaded an unofficial transcript which they also accept. The next round is materials in by 10/15, notifications by mid-November.

He didn’t upload an unofficial transcript, so we probably will have to wait until next month. Does this have any bearing on automatic merit aid?

I don’t think so, I think the first two EA rounds are good for merit but I would double check on their website to be sure.

it shouldn’t matter. 10/15 is still EA and still eligible for aid. Just have him upload the unofficial transcript and don’t wait for the school. Auburn will only require the official transcript prior to enrollment. That’s frustrating they never sent it… :frowning:

Thanks! The official transcript now appears in the portal, so all of his admissions materials should be complete.
