Is there a good study guide for IB Contemporary History and History of Americas?

My Daughter is taking IB Contemporary History, but find that the teacher isn't doing much teaching. We think that the teacher uses old IB test questions for the unit tests, but we're not certain. I think maybe if we can find a study guide book, she can use that to help make up for the lack of instruction and feel more prepared for the tests..and of course, be more prepared for the eventual IB test next year.
Is there such a book that you would recommend? Would and AP study guide be practical for this?

In my experience the IB is pretty behind when it comes to study material…especially for the histories. You could look for the IB History of the Americas Course Companion and the IB 20th Century History Course companion which are (obviously) tailored to the class.
For HOA I’d also recommend buying A History of Latin America by Benjamin Keen
For Contemporary History buy The Twentieth Century World by William Keylor and Twentieth Century History by Tony Howarth.
You will also want to look at the IB History Syllabus and previous exams (www.freeexampapers.com).

AP study guides would not be practical for IB History. They test on completely different material.
