i mean the two pages in the collegeboard book is so SHORT is that really how little room you are given to write? because i have plenty of time and ideas left to make a good essay but no room left to write it! do you get more than those 2 pages on the real SAT? and if not how do you guys write enough in that small space to make a coherent essay with several examples?

I either write REALLY small or only write 2 body paragraphs.

You don't get anymore pages, two is it.

Two pages is plenty, you just have to learn to be concise. In the practice tests I've done I've had leftover space and done well. Just learn to only write what is needed, they're really not looking for style here.

So it does not have to be a five paragraph essay?

You can use "I" in it right?

No, it doesn't have to be 5 paragraphs. Of course you can use "I"! People incorporate personal examples all the time.

Thanks ramsfan.

They only give you those 2 pages, I think, in an effort to force you to write concisely. Otherwise, you'd have people turning in these 5-page essays with lots of "filler"

I've actually found that writing an intro, 2 body paragraphs, and maybe 2-3 sentences restating the thesis and summarzing the body has been efficient. That's only about 3.5 paragraphs, and it's sufficiet enough for what the readers are looking for.
