Is there a list of books for each course?

Many of the courses have a book list. Many of them don't. Some classes don't require books.

This link below is wher eyou can see if the course that you are looking for has their book lists out. Many don't simply because they don't know who's teaching it.

1) go to bearfacts 2) go to your class schedule 3) their should be a link where it says "buy your books".... However, i wouldn't advise buying your books until it gets closer to the beggining of the semester as profs sometimes change the books. *** You usually cant return them

I want to get some books to look over the summer. I haven't picked my classes yet, but I'm sure that I'll be taking Math1a and Chem1a. I can't seem to get ahold of the 2 books that I need for these classes.

I already know about the bookstore, but there are some books that I can't find on Barnes and Noble. For example, the Math1a book. It says 'custom.' Does that mean it was specially made for the school?

Custom edition contains only selected chapters UCB teaches, while lastest edition contains selected+additional chapters.

Can anyone post the book that is used for Math1a and chem1a?

Math 1a/1b is the same book, it's custom made for Berkeley.

I don't recommend getting your books before the class starts. Sometimes the professor will say that you can just use an old edition (which will save you $100), and sometimes you won't even need a book for the class. Like Nutri Sci 10, all you need are the webcasts and the book's software which is available on the computers in the library. Get a good study guide before the class starts instead, if it's a tough class.
