Hey guys so its second semester and you know what, my tank is empty.
So is there any need for me to do well this semester, yeah sure Ill pass all of them and will probably end up with Bs and a few As, and maybe some Cs. Instead of doing the useless busy work the teachers assign, I would like to enjoy my second semester and see my family before I move to college and also focus on studying for 3 of my APs.
Any advice? Will low grades second semester affect me in any way?
It depends if you have been accepted into any colleges and if you plan on trying to get scholarships. Also, where will your HS GPA show up later in your life? Many may disagree, but I’d encourage slacking off a bit to enjoy life. Also, your time is probably better spent studying for APs if they transfer over to your future college.
Ahh, so you’ve been working hard all these years just to get into college and now that you are in you are quitting? Colleges can rescind offers. You may want to apply for scholarships or positions that ask for your high school transcript. You could regret allowing your grades to tank. Have your assignments really taken all your time and energy? Why not ease up a little but establish some sort of criteria you will uphold-like nothing below a B or B+?
Several schools may have GPA requirements needed to maintain your provisional admission so you do not want to slack too much.
@lostaccount I am not quitting, I just think that I have been working so hard the past 3.5 years that other aspects of my life suffered. I want to work on my forensics speech and debate, go back to the gym, see my extended family, and just enjoy life for half a year so that I get to college fresh and ready. I also want to watch movies read books, other educational stuff that do not get graded lol. But see this is the problem, would i ever need my second semester grades in highschool? I will not apply to any scholarship as I am an international student.
That is odd as another of your very recent threads is all about applying for a scholarship. The fact that you are an international student explains some things about the threads-but not the conflict between the scholarship thread and your desire to “just enjoy life”. Did you not get to enjoy other aspects of life while in school? Did you not do anything that wasn’t graded? Why the sole focus on grades?
Well @lostaccount , if you were to pay more attention to my posts before making such judgements you would have realized that I was asking whether or not an invitation to apply for a scholarship had anything to do with my admission, not that I was seeking a scholarship. Also, yes I have enjoyed my life in high school, but I have also sacrificed things that I would have enjoyed. Finally, if you were to look deeper into my posts rather than picking certain information to make a claim to attack me, you would have also realized that a lot of my focus has gone to the things that interest me such as activities outside of school, things that i did not even list on my applications. I appreciate your opinion on this matter, but I do not understand why you are trying so hard to disparage me, and this does not solely apply to your comments but also the ridiculous message you sent me.
