Is there a point to taking SAT Math II if I'm majoring in a social science?

I'm signed up math II and for two other subject tests, Literature and US History. I'm doing terrible on the math practice tests and its looking like I'll have no chance of getting over a 500-550. Because I'm not going to be applying to any major that involves math, would I be better off not taking it than having this blemish? If I decided not to take it, I would also have more time to devote to studying for Lit and USH.

Basically I'm just wondering if not taking a math/science subject test will hinder my application in any way if I'm not applying to a math-related major.

I think students who take 2 subject tests, 1 on humanities and 1 on either math or science will gain an advantage in college admissions.

You didn’t specify what college you are going so you need to check on the college’s website for information on what SAT IIs to take. Also, because you score 500-550 on the tests and the average for Math Level 2 is around 640, you should not take it at all.

This is only somewhat relevant, but social sciences require plenty of math. Psychology and sociology require a thorough knowledge of statistics. Economics requires through linear algebra and multivariable calculus for undergrad, and far more for higher level economics. There’s a reason why they are still “sciences.” Although you don’t need to take Math II now, you will need that math if you want to be successful in your major.
