Is there a reason for people with killer stats and ECs being rejected?

Are you of French decent, EAS?

Harvard2001- I myself am an American Indian from a tribe in Oklahoma. I have good friends from several reservations in SD as well. And I have come across Indian applicants from SD with excellent stats, one of whom is attending Stanford in the fall. Any more comments?

This message is for filmxoxo

you asked if one of my suitemates from SD who's native american had the initials T.T.G. for her last name. that is indeed the case. how do you know her?? and what can you tell me about her?

Why, I'll send you a little PM right about now... :)

Now I haven't applied yet, but i had my interview, and my interviewer told me that Harvard doesn't look for "perfect" kids with 1600 SAT scores, etc. In fact, they reject 60% of them. In my school we had a kid with an A+ average over 4 years of school, 1600 SATs, awards from all department, two varsity sports (esp soccer - we're the best private HS in New England in soccer), etc etc etc and got rejected by Harvard.

You can 1000+ plus hours volunteering at a hospital, but people do it too often just to get into college. and I think Harvard can see when you're doing something because you like it and when you're doing it to look impressive.

Hey karabas, you're in Stamford? That's awesome, I live about...10 minutes away in Norwack. Just wanted to say hi.
