Is there a reason why UCSD doesn't provide transfer housing?

frankly this reason alone would stop me from going to UCSD. I think even if I get accepted I won't go there because of the lack of transfer housing. As far as I know, almost every UC gives transfers housing options. So what's the deal with UCSD? Do they have a lack of housing or is it something else?

Maybe this is why so many of its own students would pick another school over UCSD. (I'm referring to the studentsreview.com site)

:)

The freshmen get 2 year contracts automadically. This takes up all the room ususally. If enough fresmen drop, they move to the waitlist and fit transfers in.

They are currently doing construction to house trasnfers.

There are universities in Chicago that there isn't really enough room and they discourage transfers and 3rd/4th from staying on campus.
