i was wondering if there's schools other than pton that doesn't take transfer, can someone please list them?
and is there like number of credits that you can't go over before you transfer?
ex: like say if i have over 80 credits, i can't transfer?

It all depends on the school, but the general consensus is between anywhere from 60-80 credits as the limit.

In UNC-Chapel Hill, if you want to enter as a junior, you usually require at least 60. But at UNC-Chapel Hill, they won't let you have more than 75 credits, which puts you at senior standing.

And generally, if you already have senior standing, you're encouraged to just finished your undergrad at the college you started at.

Like I said, it really depends on the school you're looking at transferring to. Obviously, I mentioned UNC CH because I want to go there.

so wait, i can't transfer with less than 60 credits?

A lot of schools allow you to transfer with more than 60 hours; this is usually concomitant with the stipulation that you must do at least 60 hours, at the institution to which you are applying, in order to graduate.

Most schools will allow you to transfer, however several of them make it near impossible since they admit so few transfers. Stanford for example only allows 12 or so transfers in every year.

Some of the UC's are exceptionally strict on the max number of units you're allowed. You might want to check with each specific school that you're planning to apply to, just to make sure that you don't have to many units.

Stanford takes about 75 transfers every year. It's the most transfer-friendly of the elites, but it's acceptance rate is still dismal (Sub 10% every year, sometimes sub 5%).

* Total number of transfer students who applied: 1,345
* Total number of transfer students who were admitted: 100

Those are the 2004 numbers; I believe there are about 65 matriculating transfers (probably about 70-75 acceptances).
