Is there a university for me?

This site has made me quite OCD and worried about college which is obviously shown my all my posts. Please dont bash me....

It feels like all the colleges I like are college I can't get into......I might be asking for too much.... If you ask I will tell which universities I like and why.

I mean I want a modern medium-large university with relatively liberal policies with a serious yet laid back kinda nerdy atmosphere with some of the brightest mind, professors and students. It has to be very active politically especially civilized politics(ask me if you need to) and have a strong debate team. At lot of clubs is nice too. I like to travel, so study abroad is cool especially with Oxbridge,ICL,Dublin...etc. Of course it must be something well known and reputable among top grad schools.

I look at some of the colleges I like, they have partial accelerators, very useful for Physics, supercomputers, nice for CompSci(ask),and Robotic centers, some control space based telescopes as well. All have advanced research opportunities . As far a I know, these are very expensive and rare. The thing is I love breaking edge science.

I am also fond of politics, history and law as you may know by now. Even if I go into sciences, I would maybe like to go into politics in the future.

My major is up in the air. It is either CompSci,International Relations/Politics, Physics(for Ph.D in Astrophysics), or some type of Engineering(Aerospace,Electrical,Biotech)...I am leaning towards a double major in Physics and Electrical Engineering.

Location is pretty important.Campus wise,I prefer a urban or suburban location with large old and new buildings.(think UCLA) Boston is highest on my list since Boston is great and it is only 1/2 hour away. New England is still good, as is California. The rest of the US is ok,but I don't "prefer" it. International is fine as well as long as they give FA.

ASK ME ALL YOUR QUESTION THAT COULD HELP!!

"I am also fond of politics, history and law as you may know by now. Even if I go into sciences, I would maybe like to go into politics in the future...The thing is I love breaking edge science."

Well u may as well go in undecided.

IMHO..

University of Illinois and University of Chicago.

SUNY/ New York University

Purdue university

Northeastern

Boston University

And some University of California or even USC.

Oh man, that just screams out BROWN

University Chicago is a great suggestion, in fact, they run Fermilab, not to mention Carl Sagan went there., but I probably can't get in.

Brown is only 10 minutes away, so that is even better. I doubt I could get in there...My parents do know someone of the board of admission, so I may apply, but it is still a long shot. I am frequently around there an it is real nice..

Uhh, what's your GPA and SAT? If you don't want a flagship university with nearly 30,000 ppl, and prob can't get into Univ of Chicago, maybe consider a satellite university like I don't know...Northern state university, Eastern state university.

Or keep looking at all the Univesity of "city name" like Univ of Pittsburg/ Univ of Rochester (Actually those might seem a better fit for you IMO).

If you don't want a flagship university with nearly 30,000 pp

I never said that

Also are you say Chicago isn't selection?
89% of people have a GPA above 3.8 there.

You said

"I mean I want a modern medium-large university " Thought you meant like under 20,000 ppl.

Sry bout Chicago I just make assumptions.... But now that I've done my homework, I'd like to add University of Minnesota to the list. Good luck :)!

You know what they say about assume.....;)

University of Washington
University of Oregon

I'm sorry but you sound confused and all over the map. You really need to focus your attention on what you really want in a college experience. And make a list of 20 colleges to start. Good luck.

Brown, maybe.

I would suggest Reed, but it's too small, right?

Reed is a bit too small and is a LAC.
Like I said, Look above to see about Brown'

What you mean by "confused"? I can give some examples if you want.

If you have the scores, you should apply to Stanford and Cal (OOS). Chicago and Brown seem like pretty great suggestions as well.

Stanford and Cal would actually be 3 and 4 respectively on my dream school list.

Sadly, I don't have the scores GPA wise for them.

why not look into state schools? they are usually hidden gems!

Which state schools?
If you mean my state schools, that must be a joke.
