Is there a UTSA thread anywhere?

Also, this year there is a CAP on CAP Program students meaning not all CAP students in the program will be acceppted as transfers to UT-Austin.

Only about 1/3 of CAP students go to on UT. Many don’t fulfill the contract, but others choose to remain at the CAP school because they make connections or because of better financial aid/scholarship opportunities.

Yes, I know he would have to apply to UT. I don’t believe we have reached the cut off to apply since we are not even in July yet. But maybe.

He loves Austin. I just wondered if it was worth the effort to apply to UT-Austin to see if he would get in the CAP program, or since he is not a 100% sure he would even want to go to UT-Austin just go to UTSA and see about going the regular transfer route if interested.

Application deadline was Jan 15.

hi, i’m trying to get into engineering school in UT Austin; however, i got capped from UT Austin, and currently admitted in A&M.
To accomplish my goal to get into UT, i was considering to do CAP at UTSA, but one thing popped up in my mind:
If i do cap, am i wasting the first two years? because first year you can’t take engineering-related classes. Also even if you get into UT after CAP, your only options are natural science and liberal arts…
so it’ll take me two years to get into school i want…

Oh and what do you take in 1st yr of CAP, like what classes

hmmm is this a waste of time? or is there any way to transfer right after you get into UT after CAP? if there is how long would it take and how do you do it??

I’m not really good at getting information for my colleges…
what’s the best website to get info for UT?

please reply my questions asap… thank youu

It is possible to be admitted from CAP directly into Engineering, if your stats are good enough. However, fulfilling the CAP contract only guarantees admission into CNS or COLA.

The 2nd page of the “CAP Approved Course List” lists suggested courses for students seeking admissions to restricted majors here: [UT Austin Approved CAP Courses for 2011-2012](http://www.utexas.edu/student/admissions/cap/2011-2012/)

If you were already admitted into the engineering program at A&M, it is a “sure thing” and may be a better choice for you. You might want to read the :Is CAP right for you?" page here: [Is CAP Right for You? | Coordinated Admission Program | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/cap/admission/options/)
