Is there a visitation program?

Lots of schools have these visitation programs to get you to go to their schools. I was wondering for those that got in already, is there one for duke, and if so when?

Yes, it's called Blue Devil Days, and you'll receive the information for it in your acceptance package should you be accepted.

"acceptance packages" "should u get accepted' "visitation days" oh lord...im about to faint.

lol you better get in bahamain, you're making me nervous and i'm already here...

There's something to the notion of wanting something too much...because it might not turn out to be as good as one hopes. Including Duke.
Relax. Whatever happens, everyone will be OK. At Duke or somewhere else.

WHEN is it, this blue devil days?

this is what it says on the site:

Blue Devil Days are the prime events sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to welcome accepted students, and will take place on five separate days in April, 2005.

Monday, April 11, 2005
Thursday, April 14, 2005
Monday, April 18, 2005
Friday, April 22, 2005
Monday, April 25, 2005

Please put these dates on your calendar.

More information will be made available soon.

(I'll be there on the 22nd and 25th, if anyone cares)

strange, no overnights?

you can probably request one if you register early

HEHEHEH...sorrry to make u nervous incollege. Dont get to anxious to hear of me getting in, im an international applicant applying for financial aid...no chance in the world im getting in...i do have a very good academic and ec background..but im sure someother 25 people have even better stats.

They are overnights... you can stay with a student the night before the scheduled day of events. You just have to register for it fairly early, because the slots for overnight hostings (which aren't eligible for kids accepted ED) are limited.

Hmmmm....my son is hosting a prospective student April 3-4. It's for something called Duke Up Close I think. I wonder what that is? What's the difference between it and Blue Devil Days?

duke up close is duike's program for their top prospects--the ones they send likely letters to

I'm also hosting a student for Duke Up Close. Blue Devil Days is open to every single accepted student and their families. Duke Up Close is for the top 2-3% of the applicants. I think they may be interviewing for scholarships, or something?

I think the up close kids are invited separately for scholarships (a person I know is coming both for AB AND up close). I personally know 5 people going, they're all amazing people and definitely top applicants in the Duke pool.

Anyone here going to "Duke Up Close?" on Sunday and Monday? I wonder how many are going and if any of you will be housed by my son....I told him to make sure and clean his room tomorrow so he'd be ready. ;-)

i'm going

...but being top 2-3% of duke applicants apparently isn't enough to be top 8% at harvard or yale :</p>

eh..... duke is still a better school for having accepted you

Does Duke help pay for flight costs for low-income families?

I was at Duke this past weekend. Apparently, all Robertson and A.B. Duke Scholarship finalists, and all Up Close people visited this weekend. Those who were here for the merit based scholarships were interviewing for their respective scholarships.
