I'm still undecided between two schools, but I'm leaning towards Cornell and will make my final decision after I visit Cornell again on the 21st. However this is cutting it a bit close to the may 1st deadline date and thus I'll be pretty paranoid about the little slip and the check getting lost in the mail. Is there a way to accept admittance and pay the deposit online, or does it have to be done via the slip that came in the acceptance packet? Also if I mail the slip is there a way to check when they receive it?

I'm not sure about being able to pay the deposit online but I don't think you have to necessarily pay it using the slip. During the early decision period some internationals just sent in the money in an envelope with adequate doumentation - but that was because they hadn't received their acceptance packages yet. I'm not sure if you can do this now though so you should call them and ask.

They won't notify you when they receive your deposit but you can call them and check.

Check to see if it goes by the postmark date. If so, then WALK into the post office and have them HANDSTAMP the date. Or send it certified or return receipt.
