Is there a way to contest a grade you got in a class not through your professor?

I got a D- in one of my classes and here were the grades that I got throughout the quarter:

10% Online Homework = 98%
25% Midterm 1 = 57/81 with the mean being a 58 and the standard deviation being 11.1
25% Midterm 2 = 27/79 with the mean being a 46 and the standard deviation being 15.4
40% Final = 61/144 with the mean being 71 and the standard deviation being 17.5

I tried emailing the professor but they were ignored. I always thought that the mean was the cutoff for the B-/C+ range and the standard deviation was the amount needed to take you to the next grade level whether it be A-/B+ or C-/D+ .. If that's the case, shouldn't I have gotten a C+ on the first midterm, a D on the second midterm, and a C on the final? With an A in homework shouldn't that be enough to at least get me a C- in the course?

Or do I have standard deviation completely wrong..

The curve is usually applied to the total score, and it seems like you don’t have that information. You can’t add up letters from individual assignments, letter grades are usually only assigned at the end to the total
