I was wondering if there was any way to find alumni at like a univ. near you. For example, I live in Ann Arbor, and so the U of Michigan is very very close. I'm sure there are many alumni of Harvard, MIT, Brown, etc. that work at the U of Michigan. Is there a good, efficient way to find these people at the u of M? I know what I'm asking might sound impossible, but I was just very curious. Thanks for all your help!!!

Most schools have “alumni books” which are normally sold for a fee and which tells where many of the alumni now work–and in what positions.

Contact the school and they will let you know the cost and you can determine if it’s in your budget.

Go to UMichigan’s web site–www.michigan.edu. There is a search box. Put in “MIT” or “Brown University” and scroll through the “hits.” You’ll get some other stuff too, but you will get some faculty members who list degrees from the school you searched for on their resumes. I just tried it for Brown University and got several.

To just find alums,go to google, put the full name of the school into google along with a + sign and the word resume or c.v. You can narrow your search by adding the word Michigan.

Run a Google search on something like “harvard alumni association michigan” - there must be one - and see if they can put you in touch with anyone.

I’m guessing you want to talk about whatever school with the alumni?

Email Harvard or whatever school and ask to be put into touch with an alumni in the Ann Arbor area.

Go to a department’s website and click on faculty. Each faculty member should have a profile. For example, go to the Economics website:

[Department of Economics, University of Michigan](http://www.econ.lsa.umich.edu/econ/people/)

Then, all you have to do is click on the individual professors and you get to see where they complited their studies etc…
