Is there a way to technologically get around this?

Alright, I am applying to Yale and to several other schools using the Common App. However, I have three different essays so far that can all be used as the main Common App essay (and these are all different from my Yale supplemental essay). One of them I wrote especially for Yale.

Is there a way to send different essays to different schools with the Common App while staying online? I'm not very tech-savvy, so if anybody knows a way to do this, that would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah.

When you go to the Colleges list at the end of your 4 pages of the Common app, just pick one college and send it.

Then, you can edit your application and send it to one more college. Then you can do it again.

You can also create new applications for each school you have, or divide your schools into groups based upon which schools your sending the same applications to.

Go to "My Colleges" and click "copy" in the application drop down menu to copy your existing common app and save it as one for another school. I, for example, have separate apps for Penn, Princeton & Harvard, another app for all the schools where you don't have to send the supplement in at the same time as the common app, and another for two other hand-in-hand schools.

Thank you so much! I thought the only way you could do this was to mail it.

Another question: If I am sending in an activities list in addition to the Common App (sending it via snail mail), does that part have to postmarked Dec. 31? My GC said that she THINKS that extra stuff like that can arrive a little bit later (as in I could postmark it on January 2 or 3), but she's...semi-clueless about things.

I honestly think activities resumes could be postmarked a little later... but I know I personally am not risking it, and am going to send mine out tomorrow.
