Is there an advantage to take ACT by an international???

I personally prefer the ACT over the SAT reasoning test because of the lesser involvement of vocabulary. Is there an advantage of ACT over SAT reasoning test for internationals applying to elite colleges like HYPS? Will it hurt me if I take the ACT (with writing) and 3 SAT subject tests and apply to elite colleges with FA???

Please help ASAP

Officially there’s no preference by unis whether you take the ACT or SAT Reasoning, so there’s no advantage/disadvantage to picking one over the other in terms of admissions. If the ACT works better just take the ACT.

Colleges say that they treat SAT and ACT scores the same and I believe them. However, test scores can only hurt you in the admission process for elite colleges. You might be rejected because your scores are too low, but you will never be accepted because of high scores. You will need some other significant accomplishment to become an attractive applicant.

Will my asking FA affect the college decisions if i take ACT and not the SAT???

You asking FA will affect the college decisions no matter which test you take (need-blind universities the exceptions here).
Anyways, if you feel like you are much more comfortable with ACT then just take it. It shouldn’t matter which of the two tests you take.

It does not matter which of the two exams you take. Every single college and university in the US that requires a standardized test for admission accepts both the ACT and the SAT. Some students like the ACT better, and some like the SAT better. Take the exam that you like best.

Some colleges and universities that require SAT Subject exams (also called SAT II exams) will accept the ACT instead of the general SAT plus the subject exams. If this is the case for the schools that you are looking at, taking the ACT will save you a lot of time and money. Read the website of each college and university very carefully to find out if this is possible.
