Is there any chance for me Wharton ED with a low Math I SAT?

Yeah, that's gonna hurt, but if he's got ALL other stuffs going on, he still has a chance. What I have heard from an admissions officer is that "One activity (or factor) of an applicant cannot make or break one's admissions."

i'm pretty sure a bad gpa can break you

yea, that can happen. But thousands and thousands of people apply with the same sat scores, the same ECs, the same awards. If you have low sat scores but excellent ECs, believe me when i say, there will be hundreds that are better than you in ECs.. and because their sats are higher, then the admissions officers will pick them.
To put it simply, there are tons out there that are equal, if not better than you. Having low sat scores do not help
But if you applied early, post on the 14th and tell us the news

Im sorry but with a 1900 SAT I and a 550 Math section...I severely doubt that you will be accepted.

and admissions officers give the biggest load of crap. yeah, one activity CAN make or break you

I don't know if I'd put it that way, but, yeah they don't want to discourage apps at all. More apps = higher selectivitiy for the school.

Like some others, I'm wondering how Wharton's math can be sooo hard. My dad is a successful financial advisor and was in the retail industry as a child and young adult. He says there really isn't any math harder than (not even as hard as) calculus in business. It's more the concepts and the way the math is used. Obviously though, one must enjoy math and be solid at it, but it's not as hard as engineering.

I'm looking at Wharton for RD, and will a 720 Sat, 740IIC, and 710IC really hurt my chances, or are they at least decent enough to get the other parts of app considered? They're not amazing, but I think their solid at least. I made a few mistakes.

Actually, I don't think any one thing can possibly break a candidates chances--other things certainly can make up for a 550 IC, for example. One activity CAN make a candidate--for example if they win some huge award, but I don't think anything short of a felony charge will break a candidate if the rest of their application is strong.

how would 670 on SATI but 780 on SAT II be for Wharton? below avg or normal..deciding if should apply to college or wharton

well..also when you apply to penn, you can list two schools, so you can put down Wharton as your first choice, and then the college as your second.

It's really such an arbitrary process that you can't really get an answer to your chances. The only things that we look at on CC are just sat scores and then some leadership in ECs. Honestly, if you want to apply, then go right ahead and good luck

wait, you can list two schools for penn?

No, you can't do that.

You cannot apply to Wharton and the College at the same time.

thank god, venus scared me for a moment.

um... yes you CAN
I know someone who did that for ED
and got rejected from Wharton.. but got into the college

you mean Huntsman?

Go college, we went over this already :-) Don't listen to these people! Like I said we're not the admissions committee :-) Just chill and don't worry about it. According to the Penn website, there are still people accepted w/ ur sat scores.

no, just the school of arts and sciences
go ask anyone at your school about this

"Course of Study desired: Please check only one"

venus.ajar, you have no idea what my school is like.
