Is there ANY good school that I can get into???

I am kinda a failure so I am guessing not...
Here is what I want

World Class Research University that pumps out research by the load.

Respected around the US and World

Extremely Strong Engineering and Physics program..Aerospace Engineering is huge plus.

Strong Political Science Program

Not important, but I like a strong biology program.

Something similar to MIT Media and AI Lab

5000+ students

Urban Campus preferred or place with lot to do. Sub-Urb is ok.

Northeast preferred especially Boston, West is good too

Techy/Nerd student body that does crazy stuff...a la DARP project or hacking stuff for fun.

Good Study Abroad program

Someplace heavily recruited by engineering companies, consulting firms, and the government.

Someplace I can get the connections need for Politics

stats

GPA- 3.2UW 3.5W(maybe a bit higher or lower)rising trend
Classes:Mostly APs or Honors
Rank:No Clue...At least Top 25%
SAT:2160, 760CR,720M,680W
EC:Head of Mock Trial,Founded Debate Team,Marching and Concert Band,1st place in state science fair and Math Team

^^^
i mean any school that meets most of my requirements

UIUC and Purdue fit most of your requirements besides the locations and the politics. It's going to be hard to find all of that at any school.

I said most, not all.
Why is it hard?

Because you're describing MIT and it's a unique place. You don't have the stats for MIT, so you'll have to settle for less.

Wisconsin would be a good fit except it does not have aero engineering. Closest thing is engineering physics.

Great Poli Sci
Huge Research
Great Bio
Urban campus
Well recruited
Good political connections

Definitely, Georgia Institute of Technology.

Tri -- go to any decent state U for your undergrad. Get good grades, do interesting research and then go for the world-class prestige (MIT, Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon, Cal Tech, Stanford, Berkeley, Rice, etc) for the advanced degree you'll need to pursue a career in the fields of your interest.

yeah, what katliamom said.

P.S. Isn't Georgia Tech a reach? The SAT is solid but the GPA is iffy for matchiness.

katliamom, I plan on it,but I don't want to bank on it.

University of Maryland - College Park

Perfect.

^^^^
Very Good Option

I agree that GTech may be a high reach, while they have a high acceptance rate, I am OOS and my GPA is low.

Anyone else have some suggestions?

USC meets a lot of your requirements and may be a match (slight reach).

I thought USC was a big reach?

I am from Rhode Island if that matters

No - I don't believe it's a big reach. Scores are good for it. GPA is the issue - a little short. Get some good engineering work/volunteer experience if you can? D admitted with 3.5 UW, 2130 SAT, 33 ACT

Not to be a downer, but I think USC is getting harder to get into. Not even in terms of stats, but in how they pick people that would be right for USC.

I had similar stats as yours, with a higher GPA, all the CC regulars (APs, leadership, awards, etc.) and I was rejected. Many people I know with similar stats as me were also rejected, but then a lot of people I know who had lower stats but more of the USC 'fit' were accepted. I mean clearly if you have an outstanding resume they'll accept you, but when it comes to the middle bunch it seems like they took this route. And I was also a OOS applicant. This is all very speculative, so I don't know how true it is, but you might want to keep it in mind.

U of Iowa. Johns Hopkins. U of Minnesota.

I agree. I still think it is a reach. Not a Harvard Reach, but a reach none-the-less. It maybe on the same level as Cornell which actually has a higher acceptance rate.
