Is there any hope for gt???

@Bernie: Your school adds to your unweighted GPA? Seriously!? I’m jealous.

What do you mean? Perhaps it’s common in Ga. schools or in the south. The school district decides to add a certain amount of points to honors and AP. Strangely, the amount added in my school district is lower than other schools in Ga. who add like 7-10 to AP. I thought you noticed that most other people on here said that their more difficult classes had weights.

Yeah, check out some of our social science and humanities courses, they are awesome. All I can say about my choice is, I still like Tech’s campus ours is very pretty, don’t get me wrong, but it seems more like a golf course than a college campus. The way it’s laid out makes community building tough it seems. In that manner I’m jealous. Plus, I bet it feels awesome being a part of that epic engineering scene y’all have going on. Despite such catalysts of unification, I still love it here. Tech is just still a very awesome place for me to frequently visit.

Bernie - yes we have weights for our class rank (no weighted GPA), but you guys literally get curves in each Honors class/AP Class?

Will Tech factor that into my grades? Because right now, if I was getting like 10 pts for APs and 7 for Honors, I’d have an A in English (B+), A+ (A) in Pre-Calc, A+ (A-) in Spanish III, A (B+) in US History, A (B) in AP Chem - Jr Core Classes…will Tech factor in these extra points for me??? I would have a 4.0

G.P. told what Tech does. For you, since there are currently no weights on individual course grades, they will simply add .5(on the 4.0) to all of those. So your Bs will turn into 3.5s as opposed to 3.0s. That method may actually result in a higher GPA than pre-weighted courses, except for the fact that honors classes may not be weighted by Tech. But I’m pretty sure they’ll figure something out for you. Seems like you’ll be fine.

No weight for honors courses though, apparently. Well…that sucks!

Really? GT doesn’t weigh honors? How sure are u? gp, if u know, please answer. or anybody.

GT does not weight honors. They only weigh AP, IB, and college courses taken in high school.

what about uga?

THWG? :)
