Are you attending one of the elite boarding schools in MA? I’d say high match for Penn if so. Also, which school are you applying to? Your interests are fairly broad, so it’s hard to tell.

@aoeuidhtns Thanks for the insight!! I’d be applying to the College of Arts and Sciences. Would this help or hurt my chances?

If you are Asian, the bar will be higher for you. You have the right stats, now work on your essays.

@preppedparent the Asian cultural EC threw me off, but the applicant lists ethnicity as White, Hispanic

then I think your chances are greatly enhanced.

Another thread from this applicant lists his ethnicity as Asian, from Korea.

Haha speaking of which… this thread says “White, Hispanic” whereas Tufts says “Caucasian” and MIT says “Korean.”

@renaissancedad, @aoeuidhtns yeah sorry for the confusion, I let my Korean friend use my account for a chance me thread and for Tufts I wanted to see what people would think of my application w/o being a URM

Your academic rigor is a little light. Calc AB not BC, no Physics. GPA is a little light. I think at best you have the same chance as everyone else, less than 10%. Good luck
