Is there any hope?

I already posted a chance thread, but I have updated stats, most importantly SATs.
Class: junior
Gender: Male
Race: White
GPA (UW/W): (3.7/4.0+)
Class Rank: Not told exactly, only deciles. Top decile.
SAT I: CR: 770, M: 790, W: 760 (74 MC, 10 Essay)
SAT IIs: None taken yet, taking May and June. Def taking Math II, US History, and then a mixture of Spanish, Lit, Bio, and Chem.
APs: Fresh/Soph Year: none offered
Junior: Calc AB, US history, Phys B (taking class but its awful so not taking exam), Eng Lang (self-study).
Senior: Bio, Stats, English Lit, Chem (taking at MIT because of school's three AP limit), hoping to self-study Spanish Lang.
Interesting Academic Stuff: I am the only junior in my class of 250 taking three APs this year.
I took a summer course in precalc to skip the course in school.
Only kid in school self-studying anything.
I was sick sophomore year (38 absences, 9 early dismissals, 11 tardies), so my GPA suffered a lot.

you obviously stand a great shot everywhere looking at your stats. all of the schools you listed are very selective but you will be in the running. it depends on how well you show them who you are and if they want you. but good shot at all!.. all matches except cornell, columbia, and gtown (for everyone)

I agree with the guy above me. You should have a really good shot at all of the schools except for the extremely selective few. I think those will come down to chance and if you apply to all those schools you will most likely wind up getting into one of the top ones.

chance me back

thanks! anyone else?

bump bump bump

anyone???

BUMP 10 char

I would say there is hope. You seem to have very good grades and you have to remember that grades are not exactly everything. You need a very good admissions essay and excellent recommendations. Good luck, I think you should be fine :D

Thanks. Anyone else???

buuummmppp could someone do like Reach/Match/Safety. Also, should I bother with Ivies?

Those are some nice SAT scores. Do you mind me asking what you want to do in college? I’m just asking because, it would be easier to determine whether those schools are reaches/safety/matches. With what you have now, I’d say Gtown, Columbia, and Cornell are your only reaches.

good but im concerned because like u my GPa is not as high as i want it to be.
Just surprised 3.7 is in top 10%.
everything but columbia is a good shot (like 50% plus chance).
ED will get u into JHU certainly.

I really think you have a great shot at all of the schools you listed. Your stats are pretty good. However, one thing that I’ve noticed is your ECs. They are good, with leadership and all that, but you don’t have anything that makes you stand out from thousands of other applicants that you will be competing against. Find that thing that makes you stand out. Also, if you write a good essay, your chances at those schools are very good.

Chance me back please!

I think that your stats are very good and you stand an excellent shot at all of the school on your list, except maybe Cornell, Columbia, and Maybe Georgetown + Johns Hopkins .

If your Essays/Recs are good, then you are in good shape for these top schools.
