I'm very interested in Bard. I like their creative writing program and their non-traditional curriculum. Okay, I'll admit that I'm not the amazing student that I see constantly on this website. I've gotten 80s on almost all report cards, though my strengths tend to lean towards history and english. My PSAT scores were about 630 in both English sections and a 510 in math. I'm a very active participant in my school's club, Build On where we will build a school in Nicaragua. I also take an intensive creative writing course outside of school and I'm a really good writer, particularly in fiction. I have ADHD and a history of depression. I heard that they are very good with support services, but then why is admissions so competitive? Should I aim for Bard or dream on? Any thoughts?

Admission is competitive because other people like the school as you do.
You’ll probably need to get your grades up since the 75% level for grades is a 3.5 (which is probably around 88-90). Your PSAT scores are a little low but they should come up on the SATs (most do). The real question is what can your parents afford for school? Have you asked them?

Yeah, the price tag is a little crazy for me right now. I think I’m going to have to keep looking. Thanks!

It’s a bit of a reach, but not impossible. Bard is known among schools of its competitivity to take students with lower GPAS if they see something special (i.e. if you display a talent and passion for fiction writing, they may take interest). They are also SAT optional, so you might not want to send your scores if your math score does not raise at all. Honestly, if you write a great essay and highlight your talents, and do your best to raise your GPA a bit, it’s probably possible.
