I am taking 5 Ap courses -- English, Spanish, Euro, Calc, Physics C -- and I already have a 5 on the AP chem.

I know JHU offers credit for Spanish, Calc and Physics, but is there a point in taking the Physics one if I am probably going to be taking the intro courses anyway?

Should I take Calculus over again in college too?

How good are you at calculus? I don't mean to brag, but I'm pretty confident in my calc skills, so I'm not taking it again. As for physics, don't bother. It's not going to help your admissions (esp since you're already in, aren't you?).

In short, I think that if you do well on the AP exam, there's really no reason to not take the AP credit for Physics C unless you want to be a physics major. In general, if you do well on the AP, you'll remember enough material to do well in the next level class, so taking advantage of the credit will let you free up your schedule for other classes or lighten your course load.

since jhu does not offer ap credit for contemp gov, english lit, should i even bother to take these tests?...will they be worth anything at all?

ap english lit is not listed as one which received credit and i dont; think spanish is either...winter break=sleep late and wake up afternoon...wow...O.o

Just a note: for Microeconomics, to get credit, you have to take an oral exam with the professor who teachers Elements of Micro at Hopkins. I know a couple of people who tried and none of the actually got credit - the class at Hopkins covers some concepts that aren't part of the AP curriculum.

I wish I could choose not to take some of my AP tests that JHU does not give credit for. Like English Lit and US Govt. But at my school, you need to take the test to receive a grade bump. But then again, my school pays for our tests so I guess its okay.

my school doesn;t force us to take exams lol...so i guess 2 fewer exams for me...wow my junior year was a complete waste out of the 4 exams i took only 1 counts...
