Is there any point in taking both the SAT and the ACT?

Sorry if this question seems ignorant, but my mom doesn't think I should take the ACT if I get a high SAT score. I'm going to study a lot for the SAT this summer to improve my 2040, so should I take the ACT also? What should I expect on the ACT test if I do take it?

Yes there is a point in taking both because the tests are so different, and many people do better on one than the other.

Well I mean if you do well on the SAT, is there any point in taking the ACT?

not if you feel you’ve done well enough, but it’s always worth a shot to take the other test.
On the act expect easier reading/English, harder math, a science section, and less time to answer questions.

Okay thanks!
