Now, I realize that when if you send the ACT via the company, it only sends one score of your choosing. But all my test scores are on my transcript and I've spoken to representatives or looked on school websites and for most of the schools I'm applying to, they said they will look on my transcript for all of my scores. So along with all my SAT and SAT II scores showing up, all my ACT scores show up as well.

I'm taking the SAT for the 3rd time and the ACT for the 4th time this December. I'm determined to get a 31-32 (good enough for me, sadly, lol) this time. But will schools still look down on this? To add even more to the confusion, I live in Illinois. IL requires all HS Juniors to take the PSAE which has an ACT component to it so I'm pretty sure it's part of my transcript. It has no writing section, however. You could argue that it doesn't really count since it is a graduation requirement and I'm only on my 3rd official try but I'm not sure.

You can write to ACT and have them cancel all the test dates you don't want. They'll send a letter to your high school saying they can't send the scores to anyone on your transcript.

RickJ, were their initial scores far from the final one? As in, did he start with something in the 20s and work his way up to ~34-36, or did he start in the 30s and just need a few points?

Wow 7 or 8 times, geez o.o My parents are killing me after taking it this fourth time, I couldn't imagine taking it an eighth time and not going crazy XD

And, I hadn't thought of asking my counselor to cancel the scores on my transcript, actually. Thanks for suggesting that, I hadn't thought of that. And if that doesn't work, I'll write to ACT and ask them to cancel the ones I don't want heh :)

But is it bad to take it a fourth time? I know colleges frown upon a student taking the SAT a fourth time, but no one ever talks about taking it a fourth, fifth, sixth time and having the school see it since you can pick and choose scores. And since one of them is compulsatory, you could argue that I've only really taken the test 3 times, not 4. But then again, it IS registered w/ ACT and the such so... Because if it tends to hurt more than it helps, then I'll cancel my scores or have my school not send them in my transcript. But if it doesn't matter, then I'll keep them all in since a couple of my schools will take the highest scores from each of the tests to make the highest composite I could possibly get (which is fantastic :D).
