Is there any university that fits what I am looking for?

Strong Physics,Engineering(mainly electrical), as well as a good PPE program.

Strong Research in above subjects, big player in such fields

Fairly Large in size, I don't want it to be really small, but it doesn't have to be ASU in size

Urban Area in large metro city(Boston,San Francisco,NYC,LA,Seattle,Chicago...etc) PREFERS EAST/WEST COASTS

No Ivies level either, Harvard or Stanford aren't going to happen...Sadly they both fit my other needs nearly perfectly :(

What are your stats?

Is U chicago out of reach?

What is your home state?

Georgia Tech?

MIT, though if Stanford and Ivies are a no that’s probably a no as well… Northwestern, UChicago, Berkeley (though maybe not, if they keep having all of this chaotic financial stuff going on), UC San Francisco, UW Madison (although that’s in cold cold Wisconsin), UMichigan - not really in a “big city” but has a true college-town atmosphere. That’s about as many as I can think of

Rice or Northwestern

U Mich? Not really a city city, but it’s good!

Cooper Union? Granted, it’s harder to get into than most Ivies…

okay, NYU-Poly? If you want to do research, you’d have to go it alone though, because it’s more big on developing than research…for the most part. I’m in EE there though. All the other upperclassmen I know around NYU-Poly love the courses they’re taking. There’s a lot of job potential…but it’s not really research-oriented! You’re moreso being conditioned to be the perfect employee at Con Edison or PSEG or some other power business.

Oh f’ that. It’s actually small-ish. Maybe you could try Physics @ NYU?

Wisconsin is good. Maybe RPI - but maybe too small for your tastes.

Do you want a good female/male mix???

But w/o your stats it’s hard to recommend.

Also, would you qualify for FA? do you know your EFC?

UoC is a reach, but I am applying anyways.
I like UCal, but as you said it is looking impossible because I doubt OOS is looking good when they have no money.

No Michigan or Wisconsin though.
I’ve looked into RPI, but Rochester is a small city…
A good male/female mix doesn’t hurt.

Carnegie Mellon and Rice perhaps?

UPittsburgh too.

I would second CMU. Its not quite coastal and not a large school, but it fits the rest of the bill.

dI’m not sure what you mean by PPE (post production engineering?) but, otherwise, it sounds like Johns Hopkins would fit the bill. Check these out [Physics & Astronomy @ Johns Hopkins University](http://physics-astronomy.jhu.edu/) [Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering](http://engineering.jhu.edu/abet/ece.html)

PPE is Philosophy, Politics and Economics in one lovely major and is not too common in the US,
